Amanda Murray (Foulkes)

From number-cruncher to powerlifter, I made the leap from accountant to personal trainer after discovering my passion for exercise and helping people. After completing my Personal training certification in Auckland, I moved back to Wanganui for a better quality of life and the chance to work in a region that I truly love.
Gone are the days of being too intimidated to set foot in the gym. Now, I can deadlift over three times my body weight! Powerlifting has taught me that building strength can do wonders for your confidence. Powerlifting has taken me to some amazing places across the world (Worlds in Calgary, Canada and Helsingborg, Sweden as well as competing in South Africa and more recently Japan top the list) and I’ve met an absolutely incredible group of powerlifting buddies through this sport as well!
As one of New Zealand’s top powerlifters I’ve broken 18 New Zealand Records and 12 Wellington and Central Powerlifting Records across two different weight classes. I’ve also assisted numerous lifters in hitting their goals in qualifying for national competitions, breaking regional and national records and placing at National events as well as assisting with game day coaching for international competitions.
Gone are the days of punishing yourself with a boring cardio routine. You don’t have to be a hamster on a wheel, running yourself ragged (literally) for hours on end. Let’s find a more enjoyable way to break a sweat, shall we? If you think Powerlifting won’t get your heart rate up you haven’t done sets of 8-10 yet ;). I’m a mother and have experience in pre and post partum, plus, as a certified Precision Nutrition Coach, I’ve got you covered on all fronts – strength, cardio, and nutrition! I’ve also more recently qualified as a Menopause Movement Coach so I am equipped to support and guide women through their peri and post-menopause journey.
